Metamorphosis: Columbine - limited edition print, signed and numbered by watercolorist Jean Herzel
Aether Nere: Spinning Aether Wild Ginger

As is often true of ground covers, the Wild Ginger synthesizes through the air elemental. It moves quietly, but expansively as it covers the shadowy areas of moist woodlands throughout much of North America. The strange, almost brown flowers resemble the Garden Spider and are barely noticeable beneath the lush carpet of leaves. They will take you quite by surprise, as spiders often do. There are about 70 varieties in the wild ginger genus, but they are not related to the commercial ginger so commonly used in cooking. Medicinal uses include powdering the root and making a tonic for stomach ailments, stimulating appetite; and because it increases perspiration, it has been known to relieve fevers.

This watercolor from the Flower Spirit Collection by Jean Herzel was inspired by dreams of the plant spirits, as are all of Jean's paintings in this series. It is available for sale as a fine art giclee print. The print measures 17" X 25 ½" unframed. It is printed with fine pigment inks on Arches archival paper for superb longevity. The colors are vibrant and true to the original watercolor and the print will last a lifetime. The edition is limited to 100 and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

By popular request, Jean is now offering a smaller print version, created to the same archival standards as the larger ones. This print measures approximately 11" X 15" unframed and is limited to an edition of 100. It is the perfect size to frame in a standard 16" X 20" frame, making framing affordable.
