Lavender has been found to be a mild tranquilizer, which explains the calming effect and popularity of its aroma. In the painting, it is the elegant peacock that fans the lavender into the air. The air elementals relate to our connection to the mental realm. But this much revered, and easy to grow plant can also be seen as a tool for transformation.
