Argentium Manifestum: Manifesting Silver
Jack-in-the-Pulpit
The Jack-in-the-Pulpit comes to us from the deeper, mysterious side of nature. Part of its unsettling character results from the fact that this plant is in transition from the water elemental to the earth elemental. It exhibits qualities of both, yet still retains mostly its water nature. Native Americans know this plant as "pepper turnip", because the root has a stinging quality if eaten raw, but once cooked it is tamed. In the painting, the Common Water Snake, a snake that inhabits the same swamp like territories as the plant, manifests earth energy as it weaves its dance with the watery pulpit.
This watercolor from the Flower Spirit Collection by Jean Herzel was inspired by dreams of the plant spirits, as are all of Jean's paintings in this series. It is available for sale as a fine art giclee print. The print measures 18" X 25 ½" unframed. It is printed with fine pigment inks on Arches archival paper for superb longevity. The colors are vibrant and true to the original watercolor and the print will last a lifetime. The edition is limited to 100 and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
By popular request, Jean is now offering a smaller print version, created to the same archival standards as the larger ones. This print measures approximately 11" X 15" unframed and is limited to an edition of 100. It is the perfect size to frame in a standard 16" X 20" frame, making framing affordable.
