Mercurius: Mercury, Messenger of the Gods: Hawk and the Bee Balm

Cloaked in Bee Balm, this Red-tailed Hawk comes to us from another realm. Bee Balm is a popular garden flower and it is perfect for attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and bumblebees to your garden because of its gorgeous and vibrant red flowers. The dried leaves of this plant are used for making teas, which are believed to be helpful in treating colds, sinuses and sore throats. This is a plant of the high summer, when the sun is full in the sky. It isn't hard to see the fire elementals at work. But in the painting, it is the hawk that steals the show. With such a strong fire energy, people are either completely captivated by this painting, or it makes them ill-at-ease. It depends on the individual nature that the viewer brings to the painting.
