Gemma Volitare: A Flutter of Jewels
The true wild geranium is not related at all to our domestic garden geraniums. It was a highly prized herb to Native Americans and early settlers. The word "geranium" is the Greek word for "crane", and the plant was given this name by the Greeks relating to the shape of the mature capsules which carry the plant's seeds.
This fine giclee print is one of the more recent images from the Flower Spirit Collection by Jean Herzel, paintings inspired by dreams of the plant spirits. Just released in October 2004, this print measures 18" X 24 ½" unframed.
It is printed with fine quality inks on archival paper. The finished product has people unable to tell the prints from the original. The colors are vibrant and true. The inks are lightfast and will last a lifetime. The edition is limited to 150 and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
By popular request, Jean is now offering a smaller print version, created to the same archival standards as the larger ones. This print measures approximately 11" X 15" unframed and is limited to an edition of 100. It is the perfect size to frame in a standard 16" X 20" frame, making framing affordable.
